Carlisle United have lost their status as outright National League title favourites after the first two games of the season. Other bookies, like William Hill and Ladbrokes, have Pools at the Blues as 4/1 joint favourites. But others also have Hartlepool as favourites, with Unibet pricing the north east club at 18/5 while United are 19/4. Lee Clark's Hartlepool have enjoyed wins against Barrow and Aldershot Town so far, while Carlisle were beaten by Worthing and drew at Yeovil Town. Boreham Wood and Forest Green Rovers are back at 6/1 for the title with Bet365. Carlisle's next opponents, Hornchurch, have seen their odds cut to 80/1 after winning their first two games since promotion. Carlisle are 7/4 for promotion either through the title or play-offs, and a top three finish for Rob Elliot's side is 5/4. A top seven finish, which would mean at least a play-off place, has odds of 2/9. The Cumbrians are currently 13 points behind leaders York in the title race, and have scored 87 goals and conceded 51 this season.
