Carlisle United's head of recruitment Martin Foyle is leaving the club to take up a new role with Port Vale. Foyle, who joined Carlisle from St Mirren last summer, will be departing after a year at Brunton Park.
What happened?
The 63-year-old Foyle previously made nearly 300 appearances as a player for Port Vale and also managed the club. He will be working alongside current Vale boss Jon Brady, with whom he previously worked at Northampton Town.
Why it matters for Carlisle
Carlisle United's sporting director Marc Tierney said: "Martin has been a valued member of the football club and we would like to thank him for his contribution." The club has a clear recruitment structure already in place, with recruitment analyst Jacob Blain and Tierney having a senior role on the recruitment front.
What comes next?
Port Vale, who were relegated from League One last season, announced they were making a number of off-field changes following a review of the club's football and operational structures. Foyle said: "It feels fantastic to be back. This club has always meant a great deal to me and I'm excited to get started."
