Carlisle United midfielder Harrison Neal has signed a new two-year deal with Fleetwood Town in League Two. The 25-year-old has extended his stay with the club until the summer of 2028. Neal is now under contract with the club until the summer of 2028, having joined Fleetwood from Carlisle in January 2025. He has made 72 appearances for the club and Fleetwood have expressed their delight and retaining Neal, saying in a statement: "Neal is renowned for his impressive work rate in Town’s midfield and quickly established himself as a firm fan favourite among the Cod Army. "Bringing a wealth of EFL experience, the midfielder will be an integral part of Matt Lawlor’s plans heading into the new season." Neal had joined Carlisle from Sheffield United in January 2024 midway through the Blues' 2023/24 League One season under Paul Simpson. He made 47 appearances for the Blues under Simpson, interim caretakers Mark Birch, Jamie Devitt and Steven Rudd, and Simpson's successor Mike Williamson, but was allowed to move on midway through the 2024/25 League Two campaign as United's relegation-bound squad was overhauled under Williamson.
